Staircraft Philosophy
My business philosophy is simple:
- Trust and friendship are earned, not purchased =
Trust is built before any staircase. Friendship grows as a by-product
of being a friend.
- Every staircase is designed and built to last = I stand behind
everything I build with pride.
- Design, build, and provide to a client a functional work of art that
I
would be honored to own myself.
"The band plays the same song, yet we all play different
instruments."
I refuse to compete with my
friends in the stair business. Friendship is more important than anything,
and their partnership in business is crucial to continued success. We all have
our specialties. I enjoy doing what few stair builders even offer. The ability and desire to
tackle difficult jobs that other stair companies avoid, and computer design are examples of
unique Staircraft qualities. I
bring talents to the stage that few others do, and a heart for the whole
performance. It's not the same old song and dance routine.

A specialty trade at competitive prices with
unique characteristics:
- A comprehensive design service
customized to the client, sets me apart from typical stair installers by
offering more than just excellent carpentry. There are many good
carpenters available, few who will
take the time to work through a design that really meets your needs -
pleasing to the eye and the budget.
- Custom carpentry is artwork. An artist may use the same
paints, but never repeats the painting. When you have creative vision,
painting by numbers is better left to those who think that way.
Each staircase has a unique personality of it's own. Although I have a
healthy respect for assembly line
techniques, it must have heart. This is my passion.
It's only natural to leave a little of my heart with everyone I meet, and on
everything I do.
- No challenges too large.
If the road does not go where you want to go, pave a new road.
I live for a difficult challenge that other builders will shy away from.
"Impossible" is a word invented by those who lack imagination, and give up
too early. My father was a great engineer and inventor. He
told me "if you need a tool to do something that's never been done,
just make one". I come by this trait honestly.

"A man who works with his
hands is a laborer; a man who works with his hands and his brain is a
craftsman; but a man who works with his hands and his brain and his heart
is an artist" ---Louis Nizer (1902-1994)
